You should also mention how the calculator app now works like a propper scientific calculator. You can type out entire functions and it will keep a history of those functions. This for me is probably better than math notes on the iPhone. Using the calculator app used to be painful, it wouldn't display and special opporators and you kind of just had to remember what buttons you pressed otherwise you'd get an answer that is completely different to what you would be expecting. Im an engineering student and when I'm in class I sometimes don't even bother using my stand-alone calculator, instead reaching for my iPhone and so far the answers its giving have been reliable!

Math Notes is definitely an out of nowhere feature that is pretty amazing. It's not going to be super-helpful for most people, but it's pretty damn slick. When they announced it I wondered if there was an intern somewhere in Apple that locked themselves away and made it just for fun on top of the Notes app and impressed the hell out of everyone with it.

I like how accessible the calculator is, I can hear my teachers “you’re not going to always have a calculator in your pocket.” But I’m super jealous because I struggled with graphing slope intercept form and the fact it just makes the graph and you don’t necessarily have to solve the equation is aggravating.

I get it why the calculator is #1: it’s clearly the only one out of the top 5 that is flawless. 2-5 had some pros and cons. 1 was hands down the top pick because there are no cons. That would now have to be my pick - per the influence of MKBHD. He did it again!
