The Pro XDR monitor performs incredibly well but all at a very high cost. Are there any budget windows available for Mac users that cover all their essentials while maintaining quality?

An advanced substitute for the Pro Display XDR is the Studio Display and it costs something around $1,599, thus it is much less expensive while bringing plenty of functionalities which are very much fitting for the Mac users. DisplaySmart has a extended 27 inch 5K resolution display with a pixel density of 218 PPI and a single thunder bolt pointer without any potential data loss cable which is quite user friendly. It also comes with integrated speakers, built-in webcam and a brightness of 600 nits. Additionally, it comprises a hub with 3 other USB-C ports, supporting its elegant appearance.

The Pro Display XDR is seriously outdated and ridiculously priced at this point. Apple needs to step up their game in what external displays are concerned. That, or relaunch a new line of all-in-ones (the iMac).

Before switching to Macbook i bought a MSI MAG 323UPF, that’s 4K at 32”. I’m using this for trading charts and honestly the sharpness it’s bad on Mac, doesn’t matter what settings i use. It’s disappointing, my screen looks like it’s dirty. I’m in my early 30’s, not wearing glasses. It’s really annoying. I’m still thinking what to do. Keep the monitor and buy a new PC. Sold the monitor and get a 5k monitor. I’m thinking to get an old LG Ultrafine 5k but i had to trade 5 inches, HDR and only 60 hz.
I really like my Macbook but I’m disappointed with scaling issue.

Hey Oliur, you might want to check out the Kuycon G27-X Monitor. It's 5k, perfect for MacOS scaling, uses the same LG panel of Apple Studio Display & LG 5k UltraFine, and looks exactly like an Apple Studio Display, aluminum finish and all, and cheaper by about USD200.

Really nice content as always ❤
By the way, the Pro DIsplay XDR isn't Mini LED, it's using an IPS Panel.

I dont see how can anyone justify 1500 for that Studio monitor in 2024 with so many other options.

P.S. I do realize the weird resolution crap Apple does with 4K and 2K monitors, specially with text.

what about the 27" ViewFinity S9

What about BenQ PD3225U?

For those reading this content: apple displays are horrible, go look for yourself in an Apple store, they are 60hz, which is VERY noticeable, and their resolution upgrade is almost not noticeable vs 4K in real life if you don’t stand 5cm away from the screen. ( and obviously they are overpriced, 1k for a stand lol … )
