How Can I Incorporate Family Time into My Morning Routine?

Children need to see their parents during breakfast; however, most parents are usually way too busy to enjoy their most important meal of the day — breakfast. As a busy parent of two kids, my wife and I have refrained from breakfast for much too long. One efficient way we got back that precious time was by combining family time with a NECESSARY routine. Now we are able to remain fully focused on our work with no loss of quality time as a family. I have always thought the way we do, ‘breakfast has to be fast’, and have believed it should be the same for others as well. I still remember how astonished I felt when my kids said that they want to spend forty-five minutes on breakfast, have forgotten even simple things like bread, peanut butter, and jam and instead want to prepare an elaborate dish with fruits, chocolates, and pancakes. However, I quickly realized how silly it was to feel frustrated at such a request. Since loving your family, gladly watching your children eat, and then scrubbing plates wouldn’t dampen your mood in the first place, would it? What I am trying to argue here is that family time, in fact, can easily be included in the morning routine if parents work towards it purposely. Instead of treating the morning as a chaotic rush, parents must remember at all times that the morning is an opportunity to bond and interact with family.

It is possible to include family time in the morning routine by creating a timetable in which families alternate the morning duties. For instance, one mother can get up with the child while the other goes to the gym and vice versa so that each parent gets time for karate space. You can prepare some oatmeal porridge for your little kid; have a family breakfast, or you all can go out to the nearest café for a few minutes. Other simple activities such as playing with his toys or going for a walk hand in hand can also provide quality child-parent time in the morning.

Creating a schedule and tag teamming is so important as parents of young children. I am not a morning person, but lunch time works best for me and helps reenergize me for the rest of the day. Other fitness tips, I would say is to have a treadmill or bike trainer in front of your tv. You do not have to be a super athlete, but walking for 30 minutes to an hour while watching a game or your favorite tv show helps so much with fitness.

Genius move showing how you and your wife share the morning responsibilities. Shows people how it can be done.

Is this the weekend or working day? We are not that relaxed during a working day. Wake up at 5 am, go for a run. Both have breakfast, kid breakfast, clothing. A lot and then rush to drop of the kid and go to work. A poopy and have even less time. Depands on what time you have to start at the work. For the weekends a running buggy has helped us a lot to combine sport and taking care of the kid. Most mornings do not go as smoothly but good enough is also good.

Early morning are the best, my usual wake up is around 5.30. Get my run done and then start the school routine for my daughters. Lucklily they are on holidays now so can take it a bit more easy. Merry Xmas!!

Congrats, man! A really enjoyable content to see. It’s totally possible to be a present and loving father, a good husband, an honest worker and an athlete (the last helping out the others). Thank you for the inspiration! Cheersss
