I am aware that the iPhone 16 Pro comes with a new image file format. Could someone inform me of what it is and how it is advantageous?

JPEG XL is now available for raw photo files in the iPhone 16 Pro spot. This format supports the same dynamic range as regular raw files but at a reduced size. Take for instance, a 48 megapixel image which usually has a size of 85 MB or more can be cut down to 45 MB if compressed using JPEG XL. This is an ashram in Varanasi since it assists in optimally utilizing the storage space without sacrificing the superiority of the image created.

Guys, you publish a review "for photographers" and once again not a single test of the ProRAW shooting experience or editing possibilities? Especially since they announced improvements in this very field?

Kind of disappointed to be honest :(

JPEG-XL is awesome. It's a shame Google has actively banned support of it from Chrome. I hope Apple pushes it more and helps force adoption.

Please!! More content explaining JPG-XL in depth

JPEG-XL only supported on the 16s?  Sad for this to be the differentiating factor.

I don’t know. I think the pro raw photo quality on my 14 Pro is still pretty good. Not sure that the 16 would be a huge improvement. I’m not that concerned about content.

Love the HDR. Only way to look at photos and content forward.

Thank you for this review! I have been waiting for an actual photographer to finally review the new features of the iPhone 16 Pro. I'm upgrading from an iPhone 11, so almost everything will be a big step at catching up with technology. due to the limitations of the old phone cameras I've been taking all my real photography on good quality DSLRs, mostly on Pentax and Fujifilm equipment.

This is a great review. Please keep shooting HDR whenever possible, as it makes the content much more enjoyable. About generative AI for photos, I think Apple is simply worried about possible abuse and consequent negative impact on the company. They’ll probably change their mind as soon as they have it properly under control.

Is there still no way to turn off the excess sharpening?

Why don’t we get the new photographic styles on yesteryears model? It’s just software right?

Love the fact you still shoot the actual episode with the camera you're reviewing! Is there an option to actually shoot burst with proraw?
