Moscow, 23 March 2007 Unique Game has shared some details about Broken Arrow, their upcoming tactical military strategy game. I am intrigued by Broken Arrow. What new level of complexity does it bring into the RTS genre?

Broken Arrow is a novel in real time strategy video games. It adds a more dynamic environment to the already present strategic atmosphere by including armies on land, air and sea which consist of paratroopers, helicopters, heavy tanks, artillery and missile airstrikes. Various regions of the world are determined by in-game geographies and hence deliver multiple scenarios and creativity in battling due to there being vast cities where the combat takes place. What makes Broken Arrow special is the fact that there are more than 300 units that can be customized resulting in over 1500 combinations, thus allowing the players to change the individual parts of units for a better experience where no two battles are the same.

Hyped for Broken Arrow and Manor Lord. Fingers crossed they can deliver. Ratten Reich seems interesting, too.

Broken Arrow is like a fusion of Wargames and World in Conflict, which I like.  The demo was pretty good.  Can't wait for it's release.

Terminator Dark Fate Defiance was actually surprisingly good.  Somewhat janky though.   If you like games like Men of War, Call to Arms, or Syrian Warfare, you'll probably like it.  Very punishing with it's resources though.  Which I guess makes sense when you're trying to run an army in the post-apocalypse.   Big downside is it being set in the Dark Fate timeline instead of the T1-T2 timelines.  Luckily the devs tried their hardest on making it resemble more of the future war shown in Terminator 2, especially once you start equipping your forces with plasma weaponry and you're fighting machines at night within the ruins of a city.

Homeworld 3.  Massive disappointment.  They at least got the surface details right.  Art-style and sounds are pretty good and resemble Homeworld.  Everything else is a big let down.  They dropped the beautiful motion-painting aesthetic for the cinematics for some ugly CG graphics with weird animations.  The story makes Homeworld 2 look like a masterpiece, and the unit-variety is severely lacking.  In the campaign, you only get ONE type of corvette-class unit.  In previous games, you had multiple.  Maps in both single player and campaign are way too close-quarters for a space game.  They were too reliant on the megaliths/space-terrain that it got in the way of gameplay.  Haven't felt this down since Dawn of War 3.

Broken Arrow is like the successor of World in COnflict. I hope it will be.
