In my position as a creator, I am anticipating a strong computer that does not have to be an expensive Mac. Is the M2 Pro Mac Mini suited for my requirements?

Yes, the M2 Pro Mac Mini is positioned as a good option for many creators who are longing for a bit more power from their Mac. For a price far less than that of a full Mac Studio, it offers enough capabilities for the majority of creative tasks without necessitating the complete force of the ultra chip. An 16 gigabyte RAM model with a storage size of 512 gigabytes along with extra Thunderbolt 4 ports is quite good for content creation and a number of other heavy workloads.

The main reason I would go with the Pro Mac Mini, is the 4 ports. Want to see the benchmarks as well.

I’m finally replacing my 2008 and 2009 Mac Pros. I’ve decided on the M2 Pro Mac Mini with: 16GB ram, 12 cores, 19 core gpu, 1T of storage and 10G Ethernet. It’s all overkill for me but then my Mac Pro 4 core was overkill and lasted 14 years. The only reason I’m changing it out is the IOS is vulnerable to attacks because it’s not supported and some websites won’t even work with it. I will miss the 26T of storage on my Mac Pro but I don’t need access to all my content all of the time. I have NAS drives as I bought them figuring my next Mac wouldn’t have that much internal storage. I was right.

Thank you so much brother. Your suggestion is really helpful for me. I just bought M2 pro Mac mini. Its outstanding like you . Thanks again...

For me the 4K@144hz option is decisive for the M2 Pro.

This didn't help me at all.
Obviously we aren't going to be comparing the m2 with 8gb to the m2 pro...
I wanted to know if I should save some money and get the m2 with 24gb of ram, 512gb of storage vs the m2 pro with 32gb of ram. The only difference is 2 cpu cores and 6 gpu cores and a bit of ram.

Would have been great if you went into more in depth what workloads would benefit most from the extra gpu cores. etc
basically you spent 6 minutes saying nothing...

Even if you spec up the base M2 Mac Mini to a 16/500GB configuration, it is still $300 less than the M2 Pro version.  It all comes down to how much you need the M2 Pro CPU and iGPU.

I have an early 2015 MacBook Pro with 3.1 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, 16Gb of RAM  and 2Tb internal SSD (upgraded by hand). Works fine, but I've been kindof waiting for this M2 Mini for a possible upgrade. I mainly write using Scrivener and do podcast editing with Descript. How much of a performance improvement could I expect with the M2 Pro Mac Mini (16Gb).

My 2015 Fusion Drive iMac is failing. The Mac mini seems like a good way to get into Apple silicon. Just need to figure out if basic M2 is sufficient for Lightroom and Photoshop

I just upgraded from my 2019 MacBook Pro i9-9880 to a M2 Pro Mac Mini. I needed the 1TB ssd so my prices were higher

HELP ME PLEASE ..........I'm wanting the Mac Mini M2 pro. Should I have the base model or upgrade the processor or the ram? I'm doing photography, photo editing and short content.

I currently have the 2018 MAC Mini (2018) i5 3GHz 6-Core Intel w/8Gb RAM, I ordered the M2 Pro (base configuration) hoping that will future proof my investment for a number of years. Did I make the right choice?

A little rambling but I listened very carefully to every word, and it helped me to decide on M2 Pro Entry Level and I’ll probably add on the 10GB Ethernet.

You forgot to mention 3 display monitor support. I ordered the M2 Pro Mac Mini to upgrade from the M1 MM with 8 gigs and 256 GB hard drive. Not enough memory when working with iMovie. I have had mac mini's from their beginning. I made a great Hackintosh but when cards skyrocketed in price and the M1 silicon came out it was time to switch back. Love my iPhone and Mac Minis. Don't care much for the company (engineers - are great) itself anymore.

This is a much tougher choice compared to Macbooks.
When switching from air to pro you get better screen, fans, more ports and more cpu/gpu cores.
On mac mini however, for the same price difference you get only more cpu/gpu cores.
Both have fans, both have nice ports, no screen upgrade of course.
Regular M2 mini might be the best value at the present day, imho.

I ordered the Mac mini M2 pro. Will it be enough to handle 4K multicam editing FCP?

Hello, i want to upgrade to the mac mini m2 but im concerned whether my 2 apple thunderbolt displays will work on it. Will the dual displays work either on the mac m2 or pro? Thanks!

Nobody reviews if new M2 mini pro can output Dolby Atmos via HDMI port and connect directly to Sonos Arc or other Atmos enabled sound bar.  spec says it support dolly atmos, so can it be connected via cable to sonos and also have sonos as a main speaker for the M2 mini?

Do you think the m2 pro at 12 cores will have significantly increased single core performance over the 10 core variant? While a small difference is expected, anything other sounds counter intuitive yet isn't fully out of the realm of possibility.

Can I use the Dell 24 inch touchscreen monitor on this ? Does touchscreen driver work ?

Hi & Happy New Year! I know it’s quite a while since this content, but thought if I could have your thoughts on which mini to buy. I currently have an old MacBook Pro 2012 & it’s slowly dying. I was waiting for the m3 chip, but now I just can’t wait any longer. I am torn between the Mac mini 24gb / 512gb and Mac mini pro 32gb / 512gb. There is a big price difference. So my question is, do you think the Mac mini 24gb would be powerful enough for Adobe Illustrator 3D imaging and larger illustrations? My current Mac is struggling with these, plus can’t get latest software updates. Thanx in advance! All suggestions appreciated.

I am a videographer and i edit 4k videos most of the time with premiere pro, my windows pc can not run this… so i need to upgrade.

I was thinking buying the mac mini m2pro with 16gb and 512gb

Or the m2 with 16gb(maybe24gb) and 1tb

What do you think i should buy to edit the videos i want without crashing?

I do a lot of photo development and retouching using RAW files high megapixel cameras (24-45Mpix) while watching YouTube clips like this one. When I've finished a set of phots I move them to storage on my NAS.

- AI is becoming an important part at the end of my workflow, when I am putting the final polish on my best images
- My current 5 years old Windows system running a COREi7 with 16GB of RAM gets bogged down in the AI part
- In 2023 I'm expecting to move to a 60Mpix camera which is going to make matters worse

I'm thinking of a M2 Pro Mac Mini with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.

I have been flip-flopping since I ordered 512/16 M2 Base on Tuesday am..  Then rationalized that for 300 more, I could go pro and get the benefits , so I cancelled and ordered the Base M2 Pro. .. BUt do I need that ?   would those 3 Benjis be better spent updating the  M2 Base?  I am on a 2015 iMac (27") now and  while I run PS on occasion , that is about it .. I crunch  some hefty Excel sheets, but I am sure base M2 could handle ..

So, interesting take on the entry level pro vs. maxing out M2 w/ram and a healthy drive...is the Pro processor so much better the extra room isn't needed?
