When it comes to video editing tasks with Final Cut Pro, the Mac Studio with M2 Max chip is the best in the business. It can handle timelines with ease without any requirement for background processes and optimizations, and it has two video encoding engines, hence content can be exported at double the speed of machines with one encoding engine.

I recently graduated college and while my 2017 MacBook Pro got me through, it was painfully slow booting up any Adobe program (After Effect basically unusable). I really wanted a Mac Studio, try out that desktop life, but coming off a student income I opted for the Mac Mini with M2 Pro & have been super happy! It runs Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign amazingly well which is the bulk of my work. I do want to get into Premiere & After Effects more, which the mini may struggle with, but still miles better than what my intel mac was capable of

I upgraded from a long serving 2010 Mac Pro - (Mojave/ 3.46ghz 6 core CPU/32GB RAM/Radeon RX 580-8GB GPU) to the M2 Max Studio.Rendering the same ProRes encoded project took 5mins 40ec on the cMP .... and 2mins 03sec on the M2 Max Studio.

thanks for this review, kyle. i've been in the process of replacing my 2018 imac pro for some time now. i've been waiting for the new m3's, but i don't really need a mobile system and find the mac studio more practical for the desk. the important thing for me now was that you are satisfied with the performance of the max for your purposes and that you don't necessarily need an ultra with 128 gb and 4 tb ssd

As someone who is NOT a tech person but needs a good computer for editing, THANK YOU for this thorough, yet easy-to-understand review. Very helpful!

It was game changer for me, when it comes to editing and especially rendering. Before I was rendering everything on my pretty high end gaming PC and with all the effects I use in my content, 5 minutes took around 40 minutes to render. With Mac Studio it's less than a 1:1 ratio, so 8-9 times faster.

Can the Mac Studio M2 Max handle well with well-known editing programs such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, and Da Vinci, smoothly and easily for content clip production and wedding production, because I work in the field of wedding photography and I have a photography camera such as the Sony A7S3 and Canon Mark IV 5D Please, I want a frank answer. Thank you

Kyle, I just switched out my 27" iMac i7 Intel (2015) for the Mac Studio M2 MAX and what a change - editing in DaVinci Resolve Studio - 4K ProRes files. Editing media from external SSDs and no longer need to create proxy files.

Thanks for the review, very helpful. I'm looking for a machine that will run Twinmotion software well. My models aren't particularly complex, so, based on your assessment, I suspect the Apple - Mac Studio - M2 Max will fill the bill nicely. Any experience with Twinmotion or similar app on the machine?

Kyle, Great Informative content! Thanks. Will this Mac configuration be enough to work smooth with 3-4 8K timelines + graphics or I would need more expensive setup? Please share your opinion. Thanks! All the best!

What monitor and specs do you suggest, decent price point, for editing on this Mac?

HI there! really great content, I film weddings and some corporate video, I need a computer for a7sIII footage, do you recommend me to get a Mac studio m1 base model for content edit (for next five years) because I found a good deal for it. Or pay a Macbook m3 pro 18Gb 512Gb? thank you!

I’m curious how it would run with the light room? I have been thinking about getting one and switching from PC. I guess if it’s great for content then it’s faster on photo editing?
