Ik ben gehoord iets over het valideren van treintickets in Rome. Kan iemand daar uitleg over geven, en of dit daadwerkelijk noodzakelijk is?

To begin with, let us understand the basic procedures regarding travel on the railways before progressing to the most crucial information about the Italian railways. As everywhere in Europe, the ticket has to be validated at the station before the train is taken. In simple terms, It is a simple procedure which involves inserting the ticket into a stamping machine located at the train station. There are penalties associated with the ticket if it has not been validated beforehand, hence it is important that this step be observed.

Great points and vibe.  You must, though, learn correct way to say Trastevere.  . Painful! Also, if you buy your train ticket from the human at the counter at the station it wont need validating.  I see many people befuddled trying to stick their counter tik into the validator!  The counter humans are friendly, take card/cash, speak English, and can be even quicker than the ticket machine.
