Since I am going to travel to Rome and I would like to avoid the mass tourism in those places. You have some offbeat activities or places in the city that would be interesting to visit.

Definitely! There is much more to explore in Rome apart from the crowded attractions. The ancient basilica of Santo Stefano Rotondo is an interesting site which you should not overlook. Another interesting attraction is Peter’s Dome, which you can see from Via Nicola Piccolomini. If you enjoy walking tours, then the Appian Way and its catacombs are also worth visiting. You will appreciate the beauty of the elevated passage of Il Passetto connecting the Vatican and Castel Sant’Angelo. The ancient ruins of the Baths of Caracalla and a splendid collection of works of art in the Galleria Borghese are two exhibits that should not be missed. To appreciate the colosseum in a different way, take a guided individual tour with visits to the arena floor and the colosseum third tier. Finally, a relaxing stroll around Trastevere will provide you with the feeling of being part of the Roman Life.

Michelle you are amazing!
I love every one of these suggestions, especially er passetto - definitely on my "to do" list.
(Although, I fear given the Australian government's decisions, I may never get back home.)
Thank you for bringing this piece of Rome.
