iOS 18 sees the emergence of the new Passwords app that, unlike previous iterations, is fully separate from the settings. Everything previously contained within the settings has been moved to this application, including the function of the password manager. Users now get a single app to handle all their saved passwords, wifi passcodes, as well as two-factor authentication and pass keys. One can make passwords and passkeys usable by trusted individuals. The app uses Face ID rather than a main password for authentication purposes. The application has a Mac app plus a Chrome extension and a few mobile applications for the Android devices which cannot affect its reach to the users who use different operating systems.
