There is a Harvard University study which states that lack of friends can be as harmful as smoking. The study established the connection between loneliness and high level of a blood clotting protein fibrinogen which is associated with stroke and heart attack. When people have less and less social connections, their fibrinogen levels increase.

 Scientifically proven as True!
