It has been observed that when raisins are put in champagne they sink at first, but when time passes, they start popping up and down in the glass. The reason is, champagne contains carbon dioxide bubbles which are adhering to the raisins and making them oscillate. In fact, this principle can also be applied to restore the fizz in flat champagne.
