There is something fascinating in the social and solitary lives of flamingoes. One such interesting observation I made was flamingos feeding with their heads upside down. It brought me to ask, why do they do that?

Flamingos have a habit of inverting their heads while feeding due to the peculiarities in the structure of their beaks. It makes it easier to filter feed. Most beaks are designed to collect mud, debris, and water; as such, the upside down position allows for food to be captured in the mouth than water.
