By far the most surprising piece of information that I picked is that there is modern technology incorporated into submarines. I seem to recall that the US Navy used Xbox controllers for their submarines. Why was that the case?

In 2017, the US Navy incorporated the use of Xbox controllers in the operation of a photonic mast during submarine missions. This was easier for the crew as they were able to use the controllers without any problems.’
