From time to time, I fail to focus during conversations that I am engaged in. Is this something expected of human brains and should I worry about it?

Zoning out is an automatic mind-related mechanistic activity, which can anyhow be of relevance. In this regard, it might lead to the loss of some detail; however, that is quite normal and belongs to the realm of cognition in the same way as the deliberate striving for conceptual recollection.

(10:13) Weel... another word (-s) one can say is WTF! (Yes, it's PERFECTLY LEGAL AND MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO SAY THIS!: What the FUCK)!? Being into aviation, if I was in a heli which has NO gliding characteristics, hence NO engine(s), NO gliding but a one way express to CRASH, I would rather say WTF than a simple Jesus! An engine(s) failure would be for the most part well... DEADLY!  Carry on, you are actually very good at this, LOVE your humour, Mike!
(12:41)  'Zoning out' weel... it sorta kinda is like this: as a pilot of a plane, or simply driving a vehicle of one sort or another (and maritime as well) uh... I would highly try not to zone out, this is one reason on commercial and cargo aircraft there are always two flight crew members (Captain and FO or First Officer present).
