Why is power line work hazardous?

One profession that intrigues many is that of a power line worker. But with the work comes numerous drawbacks that leave one wondering about the monetary benefits of it. One has to ask the question, how dangerous is it to be a power line worker?

The line workers have to put in harm’s way because they are continually high up in the air and have to handle heavy electric wires. During power recovery, which is the worst part of this profession after the storm, the workers have to work with broken posts and wires which leads to falls and electrocution.
