Why does South Dakota use administratively authored notices along the roads to resemble a fatal accident?

The authorities from South Dakota put up fatality markers at the locations wherein an automobile traffic accident happened and the person/envolved died so that there is no such accident in the future. The anchored signs contain expressions like ‘Think’ or ‘Why Die’ as well serving the purpose of being a tribute for the deceased.

They do those signs in Florida too. Sometimes they are simple silver circles sometimes they are sign posts like that. Some are intricately decorated with benches and flowers, and toys, and photos.  As a mother it's always heart wrenching to see the stuffed animals and little bicycles
