Is the Moon Drifting Away from Earth?

Somewhere I read that the Moon is moving away from the Earth. Is that the case and if Yes, explain how much is the distance increased year by year?

Yes, it is true that the Moon is moving further away from the Earth. Yearly, it recedes about 1.48 inches further away on average; about the same rate that fingernails grow.

Regarding #2. Though it was a fun and interesting fact, but what about the complete internet system? Does it have a major memory bank or something some place or what? What about a List 25 about computers and the internet?

The moon is moving away because of tidal forces on the oceans.

But another interesting fact is either the moon is a lot younger than scientists say it is or it was in physical contact with the earth less than 1.4 billion years ago.
