What makes Mercury’s core different from the cores of other planets in the Solar System?

Mercury possesses a somewhat abnormal core constituting some 85% of the planet's radius. This core is iron-rich and induces a magnetic field, although it is only 1% of the strength of Earth's. Even though its magnetic field is weak, Mercury has magnetic poles and possesses a magnetosphere which interacts with the solar wind.

I think mercury was the planet that collided with Earth releasing the matter that turned into the Moon. Which is why I think Mercury is basically just a huge core with very little terrestrial content left on it as that was absorbed into the Earth.
