Though evidence of volatile rich layers below the surface of mercury indicates that there could possibly be microbial life, the deadly conditions of Mercury would make it highly unlikely. But at a theoretical level, the presence of halides and other salts could lead to the presence of liquid water via deliquescence which could house microbial communities in microbial form.
