The oscillating model of the universe, also called the cyclic model, states that the universe undergoes periods of expansion followed by one of contraction. As such, they view the universe as a kind of super-organism with its own distinctive epochs. This theory first appeared in the early 20th Century where it stated that the universe expands from a single point only to collapse back to it again .This assault is bent out of shape, however, by the second law of thermodynamics and entropy which which was established in the 1930s. The conflict between these two views only lasted for a century until the collision of two 3d worlds folded into a string theory led to the emergence of this conflict. In this model, however, the universe does not have a beginning or an end, and all the strings are eternal and, in a sense, inextricably linked.
