I had a lesser Garmin watch with a very clunky interface and limited applications. I used it for a year mostly because the battery was excellent and could theoretically solar recharge (didn’t seem to do much). I went back to an Apple Watch (Ultra 2) because its interface was easy and familiar and allowed me to use familiar hiking apps and maps.
Charging is an issue, but it becomes a habit. On backpacks, I recharge with my Nitecore and cable charger.
