Absolutely, bike fit has an important effect on downhill performance. This is achieved through proper fitting that enhances comfort, confidence, and control which are essential for high speed and safe handling. For example, being correctly positioned relative to the handlebars can influence weight distribution and front wheel traction, allowing for better stability and reduced braking. In the review of Canyon Aeroad and Ultimate, the rider evaluated the ultimate to be more comfortable and felt he was able to go faster on the Ultimate during the downhill section this can be attributed to a better fit that offered a confident and more controlled rider.

Hi, totally agree with your reasons about being faster, confidence makes you faster, including all the factors you mentioned. Not everybody gets that. Also confidence makes you ride safer.
Great content! Thanks!

Hi Travis, could it be because of the crank length? I have a Speedmax CF 8.0 size S (as PPS suggested me) and I am now considering to buy Ultimate CF SL 8.0 Di2 Aero Disc. I am 172cm height and 80cm inseam and PPS suggests me with XS size, which has shorter crank (170cm) instead 172,5cm crank for size S Canyon. Maybe that's why you are still faster with Aeroad? It's still stock crank right for both bikes?

Thank you!
The thing with bike fit on integrated stems is that you have to replace everything and route the cables anew... PITA...

Your review was very well structured and made me reconsider my next purchase, as I was leaning towards a climbing bike.
But with climbing biked getting disc brakes and aero upgrades... the lines of separation are becoming more and more blurry...;)
