Considering the recent release of the iPad Mini, do you think Apple may now be looking to cancel their end of the October event?

Although there was some expectation that an Apple event had been planned for the latter part of October, particularly for the new M4 Macs, that does not seem to be the case now. So far, Apple has not made any formal communication announcing any such event which makes sense given the recent rollout of the iPad Mini and iOS 18.1 with Apple intelligence. The company seems to be in no rush to hold any such event that could potentially compete with these releases. Thus, the prospects of an event in October seem to be rather bleak.

I think you should keep your late October in mind. The reason iPad Mini got a simple press release is just to make sure that it won't take the spotlight away from the new M4 Macs at the event. It should also coincide with the release of the X.1 versions of iOS, iPadOS and MacOS just like iOS 18 got announced at the same time as the new iPhones.

The ipad mini was a minor update (and a price upgrade), makes sense to release it early with little fanfare so as to NOT be shadowed by the bigger and more interesting updates.

Thinking about getting an iPad 10, so I am hoping for the iPad 11 to release so the price will see an even bigger drop during Black Friday. (In Europe the iPad 10 is still €400 at this time.)
