Why Is Landing Often Bumpy?

What makes some landings on the water more unsettling than the rest of the landings? Is there a positive out of it?

Turbulence can make for interesting landings; pilots do try to fly around it while at cruising altitude but usually cannot avoid it while on approach to land. A hard landing, especially in conditions like rain or snow, is a good thing since it permits better brakes as the aircraft touches down. This is very pertinent to short-runways landings where there is minimal margin of error.

I've landed a few times in my life. I never found it scary, but turbulence... I felt some one day and thought "the plane must have suffered some damage, right?" Great content!

The landing was really smooth, just like what you'd expect from a textbook example!

I like how the plane lands right as the back landing gear go down
