Somebody can enlighten us, what do pilots consider more hazardous than turbulence during an airborne flight?

Most pilots see updrafts as more hazardous than turbulence. An updraft describes the upward movement of a large air mass, commonly associated with storms or other significant weather events. This can be dangerous as it can lift an aircraft to bad altitude levels which pilots may not be able to spot moving up draft at night flying due to lack of visibility.

We hit unexpected huge turbulence, the flight attendants were sprinting to sit down, but someone was stuck in the lavatory and couldn’t get out as we were all plummeting towards our deaths. It was probably the wildest ride of their lives.

If a lightning strikes it doesn’t affect the airplane but I think ur frequent flyer miles get reduced
