There’s a strategy referred to as interleaving real world practice and the theory within the learning cycle. Does this really get you better learning results?

Interleaving multiple subjects or forms of information into the studying schedule can improve learning. For example, instead of focusing solely on the material you are currently learning, it might be beneficial to incorporate other, seemingly unrelated material. It avoids the monotony of the brain which has become too used to a single type of content and enhances the assimilation of new factors to the previously held ones. This method could therefore make the process of learning more efficient as it optimizes the processes of encoding and retrieving the learned material.
