Yes, discus fish are quite selective when selecting a partner. This is even stranger because they are sociable and prefer to be in schools of fish. This fact highlights the occurrence of monoandry in discus where every female finds only one male to breed with during a spawning season. If there’s anything Fish can teach us, it is that Love – if that is how we can term it – isn’t just for the dwelling on the land.
