The most recent news I got was that the new SRAM RED groupset will come with improved brakes. What have been the changes made?

The SRAM RED has specific constructions that make it easier to brake from the hoods. In their announcement they stated that it requires 80% less effort for braking than the previous RED AXS model . This has been possible due to changing the design in a way that the leverage point of the lever was changed the primary piston of the lever pommel was integrated into the hood. Also, forming jaws of the brake system were stiffened, the weights were decreased and the shape of the system was enhanced as a whole.

There is the change in front mech. The point stick to the hanger is rounded not squared like in the old one. And there is more contact surface between mech and hanger. Maybe it will help with droping the chain?

I would love to have longer levers. My dura-ace levers are just a bit too short for me to fit my whole hand on them. Also I preferred the older 6800 levers vs the r8000, they're just a bit too small.

Shame no new sram rim brake groupsets will come out, nice to see shimano still offer an ultegra and dura ace  12 speed di2 rim brake version.

never rode road bike. only mountainbikes. but to be impressed in 2024 with ability to brake with single finger is beyond me. and you have to pay that kind of money for that :O

Looks great but I’ll personally never buy another sram groupset until they change their brake bleeding process. Makes shamans the better choice on that alone

:!5 Yeah: The technology will always trickle down and the price for that (lower ranges) will always go up...

2x GRX400 has never dropped a chain in 5000km // 2x Tiagra R4700 1 chain drop in 1000km// 2x Sram Rival AXS 3 chain drops in 500km. Chain drops are not nice, specially when you are riding a carbon frame. I feel that trying to minimise a known issue is not making the channel any favour.
