It is costly without a doubt, however, the Mate Xs has some very interesting selling points that make it worth the price. Given the price of the Huawei XT is 3 times that of the iPhone 16, and the pre order numbers has reached over 6 million, that’s the equivalent of 18 million iPhone 16s that has been pre ordered. That means Apple lost quite a few potential customers in China, resulting in substantial loss most likely.

i am Chinese and actually this phone is so expensive that most of people in China would never buy this phone. In another way, considering China's population, there are still many wealthy people in China who can buy this phone. So this phone has already sold millions of that in less than a week since its launch. What I want to say is that this is the true technological innovation. The scalpers are already selling it for $6k on various sites to the US. Absolutely insane, you could buy 3 Galaxy Z fold 6's and have a 6x folding phone... awesome tech, but getting your hands on it or being able to use it anytime soon in the US won't be a thing.
