I’ve recently updated to the new iOS 18, and I’ve come across information that the home screen can now be customized in various ways. Would it be possible for you to explain to me what these features are and how I can implement them?

What's more new in iOS 18 is that you can modify your home screen's aesthetic in so many more ways. First things first, let's go ahead and enter 'jiggle mode' step by first tutorializing the user by tapping and holding the home screen. Now, you may add widgets, alter the pages, or edit them by using the new designated button 'edit'. In the 'customize' feature, there is a choice for small or big app icons, the theme for the application which is either bright or deep and coloring in the app icons in certain tones; light or dark. App tiles can be relocated as desired anywhere on the grid and also the upside of choosing widget options for apps is also allowed. These features can be invoked by tapping and holding the home screen and then following the instructions.

I don’t think Apple deserves credit for allowing to place icons anywhere on the home screen and scheduled texts as these were WAYY OVERDUE. But better late than never.

I remember jailbreaking my iPod touch back in the mid 2000s to rearrange apps.

Removing (app) icon names is the best thing ever. Remember having this jailbreak. 10 years ago.

I used to do all of this with Cydia back in 2014  finally

I like that you can now add additional widgets as shortcuts on the lockscreen. I don't like the widgets on the bottom because they're too small and only 2 allowed. Under the lockscreen clock, I'd like to see more choices of widgets/shortcuts placed.
