What are the Symptoms of Iron Deficiency in Athletes?

As an athlete, I wonder what the signs are that show I might be struggling from iron deficiency anemia?

Chronic athletes’ fatigue, loss of training motivation, loss of so-called 'snap' and/or 'punch' in performance and/or in workouts as well as the inability to exert much power during training are symptoms of iron deficiency in athletes. Longer recovery times after training sessions may also be expected, as well as a more frequent incidence of infections because of the role of iron in immune function.
