Recently, I have come across a specific footwear brand On with peculiar characteristics, especially its sole design. Is there anyone who can shed more light on the specifics of their technology?

On running shoes utilize a sole technology dubbed CloudTec, which is essentially composed of a series of scooped-out rings. In contrast to a standard running shoe, in which the entire bottom is made as one piece, On has large holes between each cube in the sole to create a compressive cushioning which functions like a spring when met with force.

The on soles are nothing new. Reebork released zigzag long time ago in 2012 ish. and I owned a pair of those and i would say it is hyped up idea

So, BS marketing that ended up working. They got lucky with the sole and went with it.
