An addition to the design of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max is the physical camera control button, it gives users swift access to different camera functionalities. Tapping it once opens the camera, tapping it more gets you a picture, and a long press starts a recording. Gentle presses allow you to change various settings like the exposure, depth, zoom, and camera styles. You may also change between the cameras set on the 'two cameras' mode. It takes a little while to learn it but once you do it’s very convenient and a valuable enhancement of the iPhone.

Strong what if... but what if Apple, instead of creating a camera button, just moved the action button down there

It's beneath Apple to call it a 'button'.

I really hope you can set a default landing setting when you launch the camera. I dont want it to start at zoom and have to change all the time

Do you think 50% of iPhone users can use camera button?

Since they have that dedicated camera button, does that mean every case that is made for this phone will have a cutout in that area?

The touch id on the camera button is not far fetched. In fact thats how the galaxy z fold takes your fingerprint. It's literally on the same side of the phone in the same area and looks just like the camera button. So it's definitely doable. Been waiting for either this or a behind the screen touch id. Apple is sleeping
