I'm thinking off making an upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro. Does anyone know the updates in the battery performance?

Due to larger batteries apple iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have better battery back up than previous model of iPhone. The vast majority of battery life is used when a phone is in heavy use, with approximately 30% still left after a rigorous day of 4K 120fps video recording and over 50% needing charge after a day of still photography. Apple also boasts an additional four hours of sustained video playback from the new offerings than the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

Not everyone changes their phone every year. Many are on 2 year contracts so only change them on a 2 year cycle. Hence they’ll be coming from a 14 series phone and it’d be nice to hear from that perspective as well.

Personally with used iphones I prefer to buy them with some sort of lengthy warranty which usually means refurbished in excellent condition. Because of that, 1 generation older iphones are sometimes not cheap enough to warrant saving the couple hundred and sacrificing any new features and new warranty, not to mention new battery. I feel that if someone is in the market for a new iphone right now, they're already willing to pay the price of the newest phone, and therefore they should go for the 16 pro/max over any savings they might have over a 15 pro/max. In my eyes there's enough upgrades/changes to hold you over for a few years without feeling like the future upgrades you don't have are starting to stack, and you feel the pressure to buy up again soon.
