Will the new camera technologies introduced in the iPhone 16 Pro Max allow that device to again be regarded as the best for capturing photographs, ahead of the Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra?

The camera performance of the iPhone 16 Pro Max has improved as well with the inclusion of a capture button, shooting speed enhancements, improved ultra wide camera and close-ups, improved microphones and extra software. Such improvements have allowed it to surpass the Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra in many regards of photography and video therefore making it a potential top smartphone for photographing.

If it's a narrow loss for the S24U, a 7 month old phone that is effectively a generation behind the Pro Max, then the S25U is going to dominate in the next camera-battle.

The annoying problem with comparing the 2 is that there’s half a year between the 2. By the time the S25 ultra comes out it’ll likely switch again and then likely back to apple with the 17 pro max and so on.
