Would it be worthwhile to replace the freehub and cassette on my bike trainer so that I can use my 12-speed?

Swapping the freehub and the cassette for other parts in a 12-speed bike may make some sense but only depending on how often the rider would actually ride the 12-speed setup on the trainer. Still, if riders use many different speed systems switching more frequently may be worth the cost. The caveat of course is this can get quite expensive where you can end up spending in excess of $185 on a new freehub body and a cassette. On the other hand, if the rider hardly rides the 12-speed bike on the trainer using it does not seem too much of a good investment.

Thanks so much for this helpful content! Will definitely try this set-up on my Force 2x11 and Rival AXS since the Rival 10-36T is no stock from most web store. Another option to explore is the use of Ultegra 12 speed cassette since Ultegra is available online and much cheaper than the Rival AXS cassette.

JM tks for this vidio. It actually helped me a lot as a just swap from Shimanoo to Sram Force, and I´m trying to figure out which is the best option in terms of $$. It´s a little expensive doing that pieces replacement.

hello i am interested in buying sram force axs group, my idea is to use zitto 11-32 12 v cassette, for shimano core. and rotor aldhu cranks 52/36 chainrings do you think the group would work correctly with those chainrings and cassette (sorry for my English, greetings)

Curious is you, or if anyone knows the answer to this. I'm building a new bike using Red eTap AXS 12 Speed. I bought the groupset already (Shifters, derailleurs, brake calipers and the AXS 12 Speed flattop chain) I stopped at the crank because I Do Not like the AXS Crankset, now that it has no chainrings, and just doesn't look good.

Question: Why can't I use the older 11 speed Red eTap crank with the rest of the AXS (12 Speed) Groupset?

Is the chain, like not compatible or something because it's narrower? Will it cause premature wear on the chainrings? I guess I can't figure out in my head why it wouldn't work? Do I sound stupid?

Hello, did you have any chances to modify this setup further to 11 speed? I am highly interested in doing the same on MTB with Eagle AXS.
