The game titled “Stormgate” features combat set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia rich with sci-fi fantasy elements. The game's world, flooded with water, resembles earth abandoned by humanity and inhabited solely by those who survived the great cataclysm. Players join one of two factions, The Resistance or the Empress, with the game drawing significant inspiration from both “Warcraft 3” and “Starcraft 2”. What are the key components of the game that reflect this connection? Let's understand this step by step.

Stormgate is a real-time strategy game, a genre which had its peak of popularity more than 10 years ago with classics such as Command & Conquer and Age of Empires. The game combines elements from all the popular franchises - LOD, DOTA and Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty - whilst “dumbed down” as they describe to newcomers or casual gamers. The primary objective in Stormgate is constructing a base, collecting resources, and ultimately, defeating the enemy in battle. Throughout the campaign, players have access to a variety of units and abilities, complemented by buildings, further enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

Frost Giant Studios, the developers of the game, refer to Stormgate as an RTS that takes the best of the past and blends it with contemporary approaches. Presented by veterans of Blizzard, it features refreshing concepts such as building automation via quick macros, UI’s displaying necessary information, and preset groupings of units for better management. Showcasing itself as a direct descendant of outstanding cult series Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2, Stormgate hopes to gain popularity with the younger crowd, encouraging them to join the ranks of RTS fans.

I think the lay out of Stormgate and Zero Space is actually really cool.

We're getting a new "warcraft 3" AND a new "starcraft 2" at the same time. I hope players end up enjoying both of them, i cant wait to see all the new factions and units from both games
