Considering the year of release of the iMac pro, which is 2021, it has been around for quite some time, so one has to wonder whether it still holds up to iMacs with M1 or M2 chips. Would be great if someone can share their insight.

The iMac Pro’s performance cannot be fully written off in 2024, especially regarding video editing. It manages 4K 10-bit footage quite well and has reasonable export times. The newer models with M1, M2, or M3 chips are certainly better but the iMac Pro performs well, with only slight variations washing up during video export time, for instance. However, it should be noted that it is inevitable that there will come a time when it would not be keeping up ever again.

For sure those days they don’t cost much. Yet while i still use my late 2013 imac 32g ram. The intel issue is the fan noise and heat that needs an external fan to cool it down not vey much a good thing. You should have talked a bit about opera legacy and if the computer still behave and work the same!

Yo great content brother!! I found an iMac Pro locally for $850 box and everything and I'm honestly debating because I'm tired of buying older apple products and go through the awkward hassle of selling off stuff and waiting with no computer until my next product gets shipped in and an M1 iMac with 16GB & 512GBSSD or even 1TB used could be found anywhere from 1,050-1,350$ I HATE the M1 design its a disgrace and the iMac Pro overall looks more amazing and can arguably keep up with the M1 iMac I guess the argument here is how will it age over time especially when software support runs out for the pro :(
