I am planning to make the purchase of an iMac Pro sometime next year, in 2024. Until when do you think I can still receive automatic updates for the device software from Apple?

Though there is no specific date for the software updates of this iMac Pro, it is useful to consider that as of 2024 this is already a 7 years old device. Usually, Apple devices are offered support for a number of years, but the iMac Pro has its limits as to when that support will cease. This is something to consider before purchasing the product as it could have an impact on how the device is used in terms of security updates in the future.

Still using one in 2024, it's one of the best Macs I ever had. I use a couple of M1 Macs as well, but find myself going to this iMac Pro most of the time simply because of its immersive bright display. It has some great built in speakers too, just listen to that heavy start up chime. Plenty fast for most day to day tasks, I still do editing on it, even though my M1 Macs are faster. It runs smoothly on Sonoma, and, Apple still supports it until today. Even the upcoming OS Sequoia will support this iMac Pro. What’s not to like.

Love this. Still running a similar machine since 2020 and have to say it's the best Mac I've had to date. Was about to check running it on Sonoma as not on it yet, and think it seems ok.... great

Hi, Hope you are good. Do you think this imac Pro would be still a good choice to buy in 2024 or 25? I am concerned that I won't be able to update the latest software. I want to have the 27 inch screen than 24 inch for software development and some editing. Thanks.

I think Apple Plc does not support its older machines with updates for long enough. Seven years is not great imo. For casual use this machine could last for twenty years. Maybe. Also these big companies make a big deal about caring for the environment, bah no they don’t care. Even if I had to pay for updates I’d be happy to.

Yo great content brother!! I found an iMac Pro locally for $850 box and everything and I'm honestly debating because I'm tired of buying older apple products and go through the awkward hassle of selling off stuff and waiting with no computer until my next product gets shipped in and an M1 iMac with 16GB & 512GBSSD or even 1TB used could be found anywhere from 1,050-1,350$ I HATE the M1 design its a disgrace and the iMac Pro overall looks more amazing and can arguably keep up with the M1 iMac I guess the argument here is how will it age over time especially when software support runs out for the pro :(
