Will Apple Release a Significantly Updated Version of AirPods Max Soon?

I am not sure whether to get the new AirPods Max since I believe there is a more recent version in the pipeline. Is there any reason to think that Apple is about to make an announcement on something that will be an exceptionally better AirPods Max?

There is no word from Apple that offers evidence that any version of the AirPods Max will be significantly updated in the near future or that an ‘AirPods Max 2’ would be released. The last updates appear to be minor implying that there is little chance of a complete overhaul in the near future.

Are you thinking of keeping the AirPods Max USB-C ? Or only reviewing and returning them ?
I’don’t now…. I waited so many time the new model and at the end they are the same of the last 4 years. Do you advise me them ? Or do i have to wait other 4 years for AirPods Max 2 ? Hahhaa

The scientist in me just wants to point out that you don't need to keep these to compare them to future headphones. As you've demonstrated in this content, they're the same as the previous set - so you can just use those for testing. If you love the colour though, hold on to them.

I've waited utterly long hoping Apple will bring a new version of these headphones to the September event but I didn't expect such a lousy job tbh. Yes usb-c is great but it isn't even the bare minimum I've hoped. The case, the weight, the chip, THE PRICE - even for a mid cycle refresh they could've brought them to the airpods pro 2 level. The 1% unreasonable me wanted me to buy them nevertheless but then my reasonable me thought immediately about the Px8 finally settling with the airpods pro 2 I have... but then I hope next year there will be the Max 2 otherwise just let this thing die. However given the sales I don't think they'll pass up on them. TL/DR this product is utterly disappointing but I know it will sell well given the looks, the colours and the ecosystem.
