Currently, I’m weighing sample load times of the Mac Mini M2 Pro and the Mac Studio M2 Max versions. Are the performance characteristics of the models too different?

I’m trying to decide between the 10-core m2pro 16gb mini and the base model m2max studio, I’m wanting to get into 4k photo and editing, I don’t want to have to deal with the computer struggling to do anything a beginner could throw at it. I don’t do 3d rendering at all though. What is your recommendation? As they are 700$ different in those specs

The difference in performance between the Mac Mini M2 Pro and Mac Studio M2 Max may be quite steep, however, depending on the use case such differences may not appear to be as conspicuous. The multi core CPU strength for the M2 Max is approximately 20% greater and has twice the memory bandwidth (400GB/s vs 200GB/s). Considering GPU-dependent applications, M2 Max performance increases by 40% because of having almost double the number of GPU cores. Whereas, for use cases like software development, usage, and most of the graphic designing tasks including the Mac Pro is still useable. The performance diff is most pronounced in the video rendering process, since the M2 Max dual media encoding engine can render out videos at least twice as fast as what the single engine of the M2 Pro achieves.
