I appreciate you giving iPad 10 a fair assessment. I got one recently, and I have been loving it. I have an M2 Pro MBP so I don't need power in my iPad.
My favorite thing about iPad is not connecting it to iMessage or installing social media apps. I use it just for media consumption and notes at school and it is great for those things. I have an M2 Pro MBP, so I don't need a lot of horsepower on my iPad. Also, the USB C Apple Pencil gets a bad rep but...as a former 10.5" iPad Pro/Apple Pencil 1 user, I have to say that the new Apple Pencil standard model is all I need. It's also nice to be able to magnetically clip it to the side just like the more expensive models.
I got mine on Amazon for $349, and that price point feels like a steal for this device. It's less than I paid for my OG iPad in 2011. Speaking of that iPad, the OG iPad and the iPad 10 have lots of physical similarities with their boxiness and overall design. Very cool.
