In order to train for descending on a bike, it is crucial that the first task undertaken is to look for a hill that is free and isolated from traffic. You may concentrate on mastering your cornering techniques; that is, you should be braking before the corner and not while you are on it. Concentrate on the angle of the bike, liberalizing your head movement such to see where you want to exit the corner. While practicing, you must lean a bit to one side of the bike while your body remains straight and use the outside leg to push down gently. Better practice both sides so that eventually you’ll be good at right and left turns as well. As you grow more at ease with the training, increase the steepness of the descents pause to allow them to finish. With regular practice, you will be able to feel more at ease with the speed of descent.
