I wonder, can the iMac Pro tackle high-end jobs such as video editing even in 2024?

Yes, stock situations enabled iMac Pro to handle video editing work in 2024 as well. It does decently with 4K 10-bit footage and relatively acceptable export times; therefore, we can say the machine is still somewhat relevant. Nevertheless, it is worth mentioning that newer models withM1, M2, or M3 chips may perform more efficiently.

Still using one in 2024, it's one of the best Macs I ever had. I use a couple of M1 Macs as well, but find myself going to this iMac Pro most of the time simply because of its immersive bright display. It has some great built in speakers too, just listen to that heavy start up chime. Plenty fast for most day to day tasks, I still do editing on it, even though my M1 Macs are faster. It runs smoothly on Sonoma, and, Apple still supports it until today. Even the upcoming OS Sequoia will support this iMac Pro. What’s not to like.

I purchased one in 2018, with the top cpu and gpu, 2 TB. It was around 8500 I believe. These do get hot. I am looking forward to trading up to a studio with m4 next year. I have not had much success editing content on mine, but I don't use it for that very often. I chalked it up to being a problem with adobe. I'm a software dev, but my eyes are going bad, and I actually need a larger screen. Wish Apple would make a 32" imac pro with m3 (fingers crossed in June)
