I heard that there are plans to alter some of the ports on the new Mac Mini. Is it still going to have USB-A ports?

Based on the latest information leaks, the color palette of 2024 Mac Mini to simplify recommendations for interior design will be a vast canvas of monochrome wood, black, black grey and charcoal. However, the release of Illustration 724 guidelines ports, Mac Mini will be geared with only, a total of, five, USB -C ports. Furthermore, it is speculated up to five USB-C ports will be placed at the rear, which may include combinations of USB 4, Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.0/3.2.

I don’t want a smaller mini, but making it thinner isn’t bad, assuming doing so doesn’t compromise the capacity to use the M4 Pro chip without thermal throttling. I don’t like the idea of using an external power brick, the Mini is great in part because the power supply is internal.

16GB base is overdue. If they ship a base model with less, they’re simply out of touch with reality.

I wish they would include at least one USB-A port, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be all USB-C/Thunderbolt. The iMac, Mini, and Studio are the only current machines that have USB-A, and 2 of those are expected to be refreshed next month, so…unlikely they will continue with any USB-A ports. Many people are going to have to buy new cables or USB-C to USB-A adapters, or an external dock, thus minimizing any space savings from a smaller form factor.
