Regarding the modem that the 16 series phones are using, I want to add a slight correction: the 16s are using a refreshed version of the Qualcomm X70 modem called X71, which is designed specifically for these phones. Idk what improvements are they bringing, but unfortunately, it may be the same in terms of cellular performance. As for the WiFi 7 side, if you’re a tech nerd, you would be disappointed - the WiFi 7 capabilities are severely limited and it performs exactly the same as 6E - that’s due to the bandwidth being limited to 160 MHz and because MLO is not enabled (which allows you to aggregate all of the WiFi frequencies at once, similar to what is being offered on 4G and 5G networks). Not to mention, the US version of the 16 also has a reduction of the mmWave antennas from 2 down to only 1, and that would cause a really big performance hit, making the mmWave range a lot worse than last generation.
So, in conclusion, the connectivity aspect of the iPhone 16 is very disappointing.
