The Watergate scandal started when the administration of President Richard Nixon surreptitiously overheard and invaded the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee to get an edge over Nixon's rivals. The wiretap extorted with successful conspiracies and hindrances had solid evidence to substantiating Nixon’s flaws which mustered to him a lack of common morality and subsequently his resignation from the presidential position.
