What Are the Port Options on the Mac Mini Compared to the MacBook?

For my needs, I require a range of ports. In this regard, how does the port selection on the Mac Mini differ from that of the MacBook?

The Mac Mini has a much richer selection of ports in comparison to the MacBook Air, and even some MacBook Pro models. The two Thunderbolt ports, two USB-A ports, Ethernet port, HDMI port and headphone port are all included in the entry-level M2 Mac Mini. The M2 Pro Mac Mini features two extra Thunderbolt ports and has an HDMI 2.1 port which can output 8K resolution at 60Hz or 4K resolution at 240Hz.

is it possible to plug a new mac mini into a 2017 27inch iMac? To use the 5k screen as the monitor?
