I've graduated not long ago and am exploring various job avenues. Can you explain how becoming a member of an mlm such as Amway would affect my career ambitions for years to come?

With an MLM opportunity, your career aspirations may never be the same again. There are people who succeed and get satisfied with MLM businesses but as in the case of this particular individual, the investment of time and energy to most MLMs may be a drain to the person making them less likely to pursue their passions – in this case acting. The MLM setup would also entail constant needing of recruits and selling for the business which is not in line with career aspirations for some people. One must think and question themselves about the principles and the tasks that are expected to be performed in the MLM business in relation to personal development and career – are these going to enhance one’s development or set one back.

Oh my god I felt this so strongly! I just graduated and a friend from college encouraged me to be an Amway “business owner” with her. And the more I thought about it the more I felt like I was being dragged away from my craft, and I just couldn’t do it

So after listening to your story it seems that to me, you really got a lot out of Amway.  You may not have stuck with it but to this day it has changed you for the better. 22yrs ago I signed up, did everything you did but for me I had a poor self image of myself which I feared talking to anyone who was in a better life situation than I was, which was just about everyone. I loved the seminars, being around upline and the education and motivation.  Though I never did anything with the business, I dont regret it one bit. The time, money and tools, all worth it bc I learned more about personal growth and business in 3yrs than I ever did in school or the negative ppl we surround ourselves with. Thanks for sharing your story!

A friend of mine tried to get me in this almost 20 years ago, I went to a couple of meeting, but I decided not to, haven't talked to him since LOL. Do they still do "the plan" presentation

I joined Amway on 24th Feb, now am thinking to quit.  I don't talk much, for  people like me it's hard.

My boyfriend joined Amway for two years already and I don’t know what to do to drag him out of this type of business. He even wants me to join with him with the hope that I will change my mind later to do the Amway business with him. I showed your content to him and the only things he told me that you are not working hard enough ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️so that why you leave. I don’t know what to do since I felt everything I said to him he always respond back that I against him and not support his business.

The reason amway is still considered functional in the USA is because no one goes to the BBB and reports the fact they have cult behavior and recruit in the pyramid scheme model (known as IBO’s). The fact that about 70%+ of there sales are from there own IBO’s is horrifying.

My parents were in Amway in the 90s. My parents lost their house in 1997, and later My dad passed away and had absolutely no life savings left. To this day My mom REFUSES to admit part of that was attributed to this MLM, or that it is a MLM.in the first place. She legitimately will not accept that, or that this is a scam company. I do wonder how different my family's life would have been if Amway wasn't in the picture.

Thank you so much for telling your story. My Father has been in Away for 21 years he has never earnt any money but still believes that it is going to make him a multi-millionaire. He spends his days prospecting people at shopping centres. It is a tragic story. I would love to see your reaction of the MLM Movie Welcome to Life Amway had this movie banned for 12 years but today it is unbanned and free for all to see on Youtube.

It all depends on who you are working with. My up line is amazing and has helped me quit my job and I’m looking to retire by the time I’m 35 currently 26 years old. Sorry about your experience with Amway. Saying that a company is “bad” just because you had a poor experience is not an accurate judgment on the company as a whole. Amway has helped millions of people become debit free and living the life free from corporate America.
